What you need to know:

Our Trustees

Emily, Parvin, Gillian, Mary, Drew, and Imogen are our current trustees and they lead our activities.

When we meet up:

We regularly meet on the last Saturday of the month at 9.30am at Riverside Community Orchard, FK8 1XF.

During the summer months we meet on the second Thursday of the month at 6.30pm.

There are occasionally additional maintenance sessions depending on weather and work to be undertaken.

We have also identified certain tasked that can be undertaken independently if that suits your schedule better.  Currently they are:

Keeping the bases of the orchard trees free from weeds
Clearing thistles, brambles and cleavers from the gardens and the compost area
Keeping the patch in from of the bowling club sign short

How we communicate:

We communicate informally via a Whatsapp group, and more formally using emails, our newsletter and through our website.

What we do:

There is no experience necessary when joining, however we do undertake physical activities that range from light weeding to heavier digging.

We encourage you to chose what jobs suit your abilities – please chat with us if you have any concerns or questions.

What equipment do you need:

We work outdoors, and occasionally in adverse weather conditions so would recommend suitable footwear and gardening clothes.

You can bring your own basic gardening equipment with you if you have it, otherwise anything we need will be available to use.

We break for a chat and a cuppa each session so a drink and a snack is a good idea.

This is the basic information needed to get you started with us – you can find the volunteer policy here - it goes into more detail and you can find out about all our activities on our website.

If you have any questions, please get in touch – we’d love to hear from you.
